multi-axis inclinometer / with amplified output / closed-loop gravity

This combination of Servo-Inclinometer and Accelerometer TS-xx provides sensor monitoring of both acceleration and tilt at low ranges with high accuracy due to the closed loop operation. It has infinite resolution and its measurements are highly repeatable. It has a fast response time and operates on low power unregulated supply. It is weatherproof, with economical operation.

It operates through a pendulum suspended from a torsion spring with low stiffness. It offers high level, it low impedance output. Once there is a linear acceleration along the sensitive axis, it shows acceleration, while if the gravity force or a component of it acts along the axis, it is in the tilt mode.

There is a photo-electric sensor to sense position change by the displacement of the pendulum. The sensor output is then amplified and fed to the coil of an electromagnet attached to the pendulum (input torque). This connection is so oriented that its polarity causes the formation of a reaction torque, which in turn brings the pendulum back to zero, providing negative feedback. The input torque and reaction torque are exactly equal and opposite.
